Stimuli responsive hyperbranched polymers
PhD project supervised by Dr. S Rimmer, and funded by the EPSRC [2006-2009]
Thermally responsive highly branched N-isopropylacrylamides are materials that may have useful biological applications when chain-end functionalised with peptides. A versatile route to these materials is outlined in scheme 1. This project will focus on the synthesis and characterisation of these polymers and their ability to adhere to cells via proteins in the cell membrane.
